About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Hospital and Medical Benefits, the purpose of this role is to monitor and facilitate the implementation of the RT Benefits Management Project. You will ensure that gateway reviews are conducted, project activities progress within the expected timeline, budgets are managed, and risks are identified appropriately. Extensive management of both internal and external stakeholders will be required to support the project.

Key responsibilities

  • Agile Planning and Delivery: Manage the RT Benefits Management Project from initiation to completion (December 2025). Develop and maintain an iterative project plan that adapts to changing requirements.
  • Timely Milestone Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and objectives. Communicate effectively with all business units and key stakeholders to keep teams aligned.
  • Approvals and Recommendations: Prepare necessary approvals and recommendation papers.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular project status reports, highlighting deviations and proposed adjustments. Record and distribute actions, tracking them to completion.
  • Performance Metrics and Risk Thresholds: Collaborate with the steering committee to define project performance metrics and risk thresholds.
  • Alignment with Funding Submission: Ensure alignment between the approved funding submission/business case and the project plan.
  • Proactive Risk Analysis: Identify and facilitate project risk analysis, considering unknown challenges and external dependencies. Work closely with HCF Risk & Compliance.
  • Mitigation Strategies: Determine risk responses and mitigation strategies in collaboration with the steering committee, project team, and external system vendor.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Lead a cross-functional project team comprising business analysts, internal and external developers, testers, and other experts.
  • Compliance with Standards: Perform work in compliance with relevant regulatory standards, including work health & safety (WHS) legislation.
  • Risk Identification: Identify, mitigate, and report risks associated with potential breaches of regulatory standards.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in end-to-end implementation.
  • Competence in dealing with external suppliers (project managers, architects, builders).
  • Extensive project management experience involving systems changes, testing, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and influence a positive work environment.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Analytical mindset for identifying process improvements.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of private health insurance.
