About the role

The Cyber Security and Platform Administrator role will be an IT security role with a component of IT platform administration and support.

The role will be responsible for the administration of all IT security and compliance services including vulnerability, SEIM and patch management, PCI compliance, incident response, platform backup, high availability, and security

The role will also be responsible for the implementation and support of the production IT environment across on-premise and cloud platforms and to ensure that the appropriate cyber security, compliance and governance policies and practices are implemented and enforced.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Delivery of all outcomes assigned, ensuring high quality technical outcomes.
  • Implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and security services.
  • Vulnerability management.
  • Security information and event management.
  • Anti-virus platform management and administration.
  • Ensure PCI compliance is upheld on relevant systems.
  • Ensure CPS234 security requirements are upheld and maintained.
  • Security patch and configuration management.
  • Ensure server and network security hardening is enforced on critical and sensitive systems.
  • Rapid response to security incidents according to incident management framework.
  • Routinely identify and review IT security risks and advise of changes and/or improvements that can be implemented.
  • Maintenance and administration of entire firewall ecosystem including WAF’s and Meraki SD-WAN.
  • Work with external vendors and service providers to ensure solutions are scoped and delivered to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure information security and governance best practises are implemented and maintained across all IT platforms according to industry standards.
  • Management and maintenance of backup and recovery platform.
  • Configuration, implementation and maintenance of core network and security stack.
  • Resolution of unresolved technical escalations according to established procedures.
  • Documentation of technical solutions and operational procedures (detailed designs, as-built, how-to).
  • Auditing user access and activities.
  • Incident response and analysis.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline
  • Superior technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Delivery and outcomes focussed
  • Advanced knowledge of security standards OWASP, NIST, ISO.
  • Microsoft Active Directory / Azure Active Directory
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (preferable)
  • Microsoft Azure Services
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional or equivalent
  • Certified Information Platforms Security Professional
  • Advanced knowledge of core IT infrastructure platforms
  • Advanced experience in networking and security technologies e.g. Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Load balancing
  • Core experience of SIEM products and associated tools - endpoint protection and threat analysis
  • Experience supporting core databases in SQL Server
