Payroll Officer

About the role 

This dynamic role will see you responsible for the end-to-end payroll lifecycle for over 1600 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing for both fortnightly and monthly pay runs. 



  • Processing the fortnightly and monthly payrolls (approx. 1600 employees) 
  • Serving internal and external clients, including answering payroll queries from staff, and following up on customer requests 
  • Processing new employee's contracts and terminations (from a payroll perspective) 
  • Assisting with month-end reporting 
  • Regular filing and archiving of payroll information 
  • Preceda system administration and general maintenance 
  • Entering timesheet information
  • Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll, super and tax
  • Communicate and engage with the business, Finance and other P&C functions a, as required to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing


About you 


  • An experienced and hands on Payroll Officer with strong end to end payroll knowledge
  • High level customer service skills 
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy 
  • Demonstrated initiative and attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel skills 
  • Payroll data administration (e.g. entering and maintaining employee information and pay)
  • Proven knowledge and capacity to comply with federal and state regulations (awards, EA)
